Finance Manager

Role Overview:

 

We seek an experienced, detail-oriented finance manager to be the gatekeeper of our business finances. The individual should be a numbers whizz and understand financial strategy, cash flow management and the nature of events.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Financial Planning and Analysis:

·      Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.

·      Analyse financial data and trends to provide insights into the company's financial performance.

·      Collaborate with senior management to develop annual budgets and forecasts.

2. Financial Reporting:

·      Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

·      Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and accounting standards.

·      Provide financial updates to key stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators.

·      Have knowledge of Zoho systems and submit VAT and TAX returns within required deadlines.

3. Budget Management:

·      Manage the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to align budgetary goals with overall company objectives.

·      Monitor and control expenses to ensure they align with approved budgets.

·      Identify areas for cost optimisation and efficiency improvements.

4. Cash Flow Management:

·      Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds for operational needs.

·      Manage relationships with financial institutions and optimise banking processes.

·      Implement effective cash management policies to safeguard company assets.

5. Financial Compliance:

·      Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations and ensure the company's adherence to all relevant laws and standards.

·      Work with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.

·      Implement and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risks.

6. Vendor and Contract Management:

·      Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, ensuring favourable terms and conditions.

·      Review and approve vendor payments following established policies, including managing purchase orders, invoice creation, and arrears management.

7. Team Leadership and Development:

·      Lead and mentor the company, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

·      Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and capabilities.

 

 

Qualifications:

·      Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) preferred.

·      Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar role, preferably in the events or hospitality industry, for at least three years.

·      Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

·      Familiarity with UAE financial regulations and compliance requirements.

·      Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

·      Advanced proficiency in financial software, MS Excel and Zoho.

 

 

Requirements:

·      Available to work weekends, evenings and overnights as needed for events.

·      Available to travel for work – this will likely be to the UAE, MENA or UK, but it could be anywhere in the world.

 

Location:

Our main office is in Dubai, but we have clients all over the world, and travel may be required for the chosen candidate. This role would be based in Dubai.

 

·      The role is a hybrid one – we require you to be in the office three fixed days a week with the flexibility to work from home for two.
