About the Job

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, collaborative team as the first in-house Graphic Designer. As a small and rapidly expanding agency, this is ideal for a junior/mid-weight designer to grow, develop, and lead graphic design elements on various projects – from tech events to product launches to influencer parties.

 

Role Overview

 

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on the fast-paced energy of the events industry and enjoys the variety of working across multiple projects simultaneously. The candidate will be responsible for designing various print and digital assets for various clients and assisting with general agency responsibilities such as creative proposal decks and company branding. The candidate will be invited to join creative brainstorming sessions and collaborate with the team on event concepts and activation design.

 

Working closely with the event producers and 3D designers, the graphic designer will ensure that event designs adhere to the client’s brand guidelines and that all assets are supplied to the correct specifications within the deadline.

 

You'll need to understand large-scale event design and printing with sufficient knowledge, to select the appropriate printed materials for each piece of branding. Additionally, the candidate should have experience designing web assets and, ideally, some knowledge of animation.

 

Key Skills:

·      Adobe Creative Suite: including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

·      Highly creative with a passion for design, illustration and typography

·      High attention to detail

·      Great communication, organization and time management skills

·      Ability to work across multiple projects at the same time

·      Previous experience in the events industry, ideally in an agency setting

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs / Slides, and Canva

·      Ability to work quickly under pressure

·      Proficiency in English

 

Other Skills (non-essential):

·        Some experience in video editing or motion graphics

·      Proficiency in Sketchup

·      Proficiency in Canva

·      Additional Languages – Ideally Arabic

 

Job Responsibilities:

·        Take an initial brief from the Event Producer and familiarise yourself thoroughly with the brand’s design guidelines.

·      Based on the brief, work with the Event Producer to create a critical path of deadlines and a live working document of assets, updating with progress throughout the course of the project.

·      Design print and web assets for clients according to the brief – this could be anything from a stage backdrop to a branded gift box to an event invitation.

·      Occasionally attend client meetings to discuss the brief, feedback and creative direction.

·      Join creative brainstorms with the wider agency team whenever possible.

·      Work closely with the 3D designer to supply assets to be included in 3D renders.

·      Source stock imagery.

·      Checking final contact sheets with the Event Producer and/or Production Manager before printing.

·      Brief and manage freelance graphic designers during peak periods if support is required on a project.

·      Respond promptly to clients and agency teams regarding active projects, even outside normal working hours.

 

Qualifications:

·        2+ years of proven graphic design experience, ideally in an events agency setting; however, we are open to meeting candidates from other industries.

·      Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.

·      Proficiency in PowerPoint and Google Slides

·      Excellent computer literacy with Microsoft and Apple applications, team project software, Google Drive and social media sites

 

Requirements:

·        Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed during peak periods.

·      Link/access to portfolio.

 

Location:

 

Our main office is in Dubai, but we have clients all over the world, and travel may be required for the chosen candidate. This role would be based in Dubai.

 

The role is a hybrid one – we require you to be in the office three fixed days a week with the flexibility to work from home for two.
